Carol Timson Ball grew up in England and completed her art education at Loughborough College of Art & Design. She also completed figure drawing and oil painting courses at Santa Monica and Cuesta Colleges. In 2005 she participated in a Pastel Workshop with Maggie Price, Pastel Artist. Her preferred mediums are pastels & oils.
Carol considers herself a Plein-air Artist, with the intent of capturing the ambience of the "quintessential California" through her paintings of vistas of local vineyards, the rugged coastline and the old Californian missions. Her aim is to create "impressionistic paintings exploring the textures, shapes and light, using harmonious notes of color to imitate nature and capture the moment."
